First applied models of non-polluted industrial production in Thai Nguyen
Currently, Thai Nguyen is one of five selected provinces to participate in non-polluted industrial production under Vietnam-Denmark Development Program on Environment in period of 2006-2010. After 2 years, there’re 3/3 accepted projects were operated; continue to implement 2 other projects in 2008. The first applied models of industrial non-polluted production not only make economic profit, but also save natural resource s and protect the environment. The 3 projects which were accepted in 2007 and operated in 2008 had achieved some results as follows:
1. Project “Repairing circle furnace No. 2 produced ZnO 6% Zn with capacity of 4,000 tons per year” of Thai Nguyen Nonferrous Metal Co. Ltd with total capital of 5,929,661,218 VND makes benefits as follows:
a, Economic profit: total profit brought by using non-polluted solutions is 3,942,000,000 VND per year.
b, Saving of natural resource, fuel and raw materials:
+ Reduction of used coal: 1,496 tons per year
+ Reduction of water : 1,662.5 m3 per year
+ Reduction of used electricity: 99,750 kW per year
+ Reduction of used limestone: 199.5 tons per year
+ Reduction of used zinc ore: 1,098 tons per year
+ Reduction of polluted CO2 due to the reduction of using electricity and coal: 3,900.6 tons per year
+ Reduction of polluted dust: 44.88 tons per year
+ Reduction of PbO to the air: 1380 kg per year
2. Project “Improvement of dried materials processing phase at Luu Xa Cement Factory” of Branch of Industrial Investment and Production J.S.C. with total estimated investment capital 1,587,465,160 VND, makes profits as follows:
a, Economic profits: Total profit brought by using non-polluted solutions is 347,937,000 VND per year.
b, Saving of natural resource, fuel and raw materials:
+ Reduction of used coal: 419 tons per year
+ Reduction of used electricity: 1,500 Kwh per year
+ Reduction of used water: 55 m3 per year
+ Reuse of wasted mud: 862 tons per year
+ Reduction of polluted dust from 200-300 mg/m3 to under 50mg/m3 equivalent to reduction of 48 tons per year
+ Reduction of polluted CO2 due to the reduction of using electricity and coal: 1,059.0 tons of CO2 per year.
3. Project “Two better solutions: collecting paper powder, water, water circle and system of vacuum cleaned and anti-smell in factories” by Thai Nguyen Paper Export Joint Stock Company. With total investment of VND 1,680,000, gain profits as follow:
a, Economic benefit: total profit brought by using non-polluted solutions is 447,050,000 VND/year.
b, Saving of natural resource, fuel and raw materials:
+ Reduction of paper powder due to using of recycled powder: 400 tons/year.
+ Reduce of waste water due to using of recycled water: 250,000 m3/year.
+ Reduce of S02: 52.23 tons/year.
+ Reduce of polluted dust to the environment: 5.19 tons/year.
