Consumers using QR code scanning for cashless payments at the Industry
and Trade Fair - OCOP Thai Nguyen 2023 contribute to promoting digital economy
and stimulating consumer demand.

According to Report No. 208/BC-STTTT from the Department of Information and Communications on the situation and results of implementing Resolution No. 01/NQ-TU dated December 31, 2020, by the Provincial Party Committee on the Digital Transformation Program of Thai Nguyen province for the period 2021-2025, with a vision to 2030, it is estimated that in the first six months of 2023, the total digital economic revenue in the province will reach around 357 trillion VND (over 15 billion USD). Specifically, the revenue from the production of electronic products, computers, and optical products is estimated to reach around 340 trillion VND (approximately 14.3 billion USD), and the revenue from the electrical equipment manufacturing industry is estimated at around 17 trillion VND (approximately 0.7 billion USD). Currently, the province has 324 digital technology enterprises. To promote digital economic development, various sectors and specialized agencies of the province have implemented multiple measures, including developing plans to support the installation and licensing of nearly 4,000 software applications for enterprise management, electronic invoicing, restaurant management, accounting services, digital signatures, etc. They have also organized training programs and workshops to enhance the skills of using and exploiting digital platforms (both offline and online) for businesses and individual entrepreneurs in the province, enabling them to apply technology and digital solutions effectively.

At the same time, efforts have been made to successfully implement electronic invoices for 9,459 out of 9,459 organizations, businesses, households, and individuals engaged in business activities, achieving a 100% rate. The rate of businesses implementing electronic tax declarations reached 100%, while the rate of businesses submitting electronic tax payments reached 98%. The rate of value-added tax refunds through electronic means reached 100%. Telecommunication enterprises have also deployed Mobile Money services for nearly 435,000 customers at over 9,300 acceptance points. In terms of e-commerce development, the Department of Industry and Trade, as the direct managing unit, has maintained and supported the operation of the Thai Nguyen E-commerce Trading Floor at the website http://thainguyentrade.vn/. The department has actively assisted businesses and cooperatives in showcasing the region’s key agricultural products on the trading floor. As of now, over 2,600 products have been updated on the platform and integrated into the C-Thainguyen software. Since January 1, 2023, 71 agricultural products have been listed on two e-commerce platforms (Postmart, Vo so), with a total of 1,530 transactions amounting to 250 million VND.
In the coming time, Thai Nguyen province will continue to promote digital economic development, with a focus on developing digital technology enterprises, providing digital technology products, developing digital content, digital advertising, creative industries, platform economy, e-commerce, and smart manufacturing. This will accelerate digital transformation in businesses, enhance the competitiveness of enterprises and the economy as a whole. Efforts will be concentrated on improving communication and promoting the widespread use of e-commerce applications, as well as building e-commerce infrastructure and platforms. Electronic payment systems will be further developed within the province. Support will be provided in terms of knowledge, digital solutions, and digital transformation processes for businesses, along with the establishment of mechanisms and policies to encourage and promote their participation in digital transformation. Digital economic development is seen as a means to stimulate the development of IT products and services, the growth of digital technology enterprises, and to effectively contribute to the socio-economic development of Thai Nguyen province in the upcoming period.
