The use of energy saving and efficiency is always an issue that all levels and departments concerned in recent years. According to the report from the General Department of Energy, Ministry of Industry and Trade said, the demand for power consumption in Vietnam gained the average growth of 13.07% per year in the period of 2006-2010 and nearly 11% / year in the period of 2011-2015. The energy shortage increasingly worsened, the cost of energy is increasing, while energy is a key factor, playing an important role in all activities as well as human life. The problem is to find a new energy source, renewable energy to replace the natural energy resources are becoming exhausted.
On August 31st, 2016, at the hall of the Department of Industry and Trade the training course“The Energy Management System following ISO 50001 standard” organized by Thai Nguyen Department of Trade and Industry in collaboration with the Certification Center (QUACERT) under the General Department of Standards and Quality. The course has attracted over 50 trainees from organizations and enterprises in Thai Nguyen province to participate.
At the training course, lecturer Tran Thi Ngoc Anh - Chief Assessment Expert - Head of Certification Systems Divison – Certification Center QUACERT introduced trainees an overview of the provisions of law related to energy, building and operating the energy management system with ISO: 50001 Standard. Thus, it supports the enterprises in evaluating the consumption and use of energy, finding the best solutions to improve the equipment and efficiency of machines as well as reducing the used energy. The application of ISO 50001:2011 management standard also created the favorable conditions for the review, measurement and auditor’s report of energy, propagandizing saving energy in the community in order to contribute to against climate change and reduce the use of national resource.
The training course supported the organizations and enterprises in updating knowledge of saving energy and energy management systems. Hopefully, in the near future, there will be many organizations and enterprises in the province to apply ISO: 50001 standards. At the end of the course, the trainees are certified "the energy management system following ISO 50001".
