Pursuant to Decree no. 45/2010/NĐ-CP dated on April 21st, 2010 by the Government regulating on organizing, operating and managing he Association. Thai Nguyen Department of Industry and Trade advised Thai Nguyen Provincial People’s Committee to encourage and establish Association for Protection of Consumers’ Rights of Thai Nguyen province. The Association was established in July 2012 with 70 members from 19 enterprises, 03 professional associations, 03 retired officials, and officials from Provincial Departments, Agencies. After establishment, the Association built working schedule, especially working schedule in 2013.
In 2013, the Association implemented propaganda activities, popularizing education and laws in terms of protection of consumers’ right by:
Many particular activities were implemented. The Association cooperated with provincial television to make propaganda related to product quality and inspection at manufacturing facilities and markets in the province to ensure consumers’ rights.
Cooperating with Department of Science and Technology to check and propse to place scales at some center markets.
Building own website based on website of Thai Nguyen Department of Industry and Trade.
Organizing training course of regulations on registering contract as sample, general transaction conditions for enterprises who supply electricity, water, Fixed telephone subscribers, postpaid telephone subscribers, Internet connection, etc.
Besides, the Association already received and closely cooperated with related agencies to solve complaints of consumers.
The Association has already had operation orientation in 2014 together with solutions. However, the Association is a new social organization with little experience, poor facilities and expense, so the Association has some proposals to Provincial People’s Committee, management board to care and support training for officials. State budget supports expense for propaganda via mass media
